It's #laundryday over here, meaning we're taking our weekly trip to the laundromat, and I thought, what better story to pair with laundry day, then Joseph and his coat of many colors. This is totally a repeat activity from this summer. But guess what. The kids still LOVED it! Sometimes, it really is the simple things that capture the most attention.

Can we just take a minute to talk about how Esther is basically the #disneyprincess of the Bible. Normal girl gets selected to be queen. A girl ends up being the hero of the story. There's a whole bunch of stuff in the original that you're probably not ready to discuss with your 3 year-old...(anyone else listen to the latest episode of the @thebiblebinge ?).
Ok, but back to my point. Esther is one of my favorite stories of the Bible, and not just because of the serious #girlpower vibes. At the heart of the story is the truth that God is always working. We may not necessarily see his hand, or understand what he is doing until after the fact. However, he is always there, working in the details to bring about good. Whatever your situation today, friend, you can trust that God is working behind the scenes for your good and for his glory. 🙌

Can you imagine hearing Jesus was in town? A healer? Someone claiming to heal both bodies and souls? Wherever Jesus was, he drew a crowd. Some were probably just curious to see what this guy was all about. But some...Oh, the desperation they must have felt. A man born blind, condemned as a sinner because of his condition...One with legs that would not work, forced into poverty, at the mercy of those that would help him... And all of those suffering from leprosy, forced into isolation from society. Could Jesus heal them? Would he heal them? Sometimes I feel this desperation so deeply in my soul. Though, I'm generally physically healthy, there is a sickness that plagues my heart. Past wounds that would try to sneak in and steal center-stage of my mind, causing anxiety and fear. The irritation I sometimes feel with my littles. And Oh, the shame and guilt when I don't love them like I should. I don't think I'm the only one that feels this. I think we've all been there, and we find ourselves asking...Could Jesus heal me? Would he? And the answer is a resounding YES!
Jesus had compassion on the crowds. He saw their hurt, their needs, and it always moved him to restoration. Restoration of health. Restoration of relationship. Restoration of life.
And he still sees. He sees us where we're hurting, and he has compassion.
Where do you need healing today, friend? What ever life is throwing at you today, know that you are seen, you are known, and you are loved. .
