Blog Hop: 2 New Books By Glenys Nellist With A Message of God’s Love for Little Hearts

If you have been following one with us for a while, you know we love when Glenys Nellist launches a new book. And she has a couple new board book titles coming out just in time for the holiday season.

Good News! It’s Creation!

This lovely board book explores the creation story. Journeying through each element– from the stars to the mountains, to the sea creature– we discover that God made everything very good. The story continues as we see that God made man and woman in his image. I especially love this book because of the representation of darker skin colors of Adam and Eve. It’s so important for all of our littles to see themselves and their friends in the illustrations we provide. When talking about Imago Dei, presenting pictures of a variety of skin tones reinforces the idea that God made ALL people, in every skin tone and hair texture in their image. And it was good! For much of history, the depictions of Adam and Eve have leaned heavy on lighter skin and hair tones. It is a joy to see this shifting.

Good News! God Loves You!

This lovely story explores Romans 8:39 through images of the Farm. Littles who love barnyard will thrill while reading how nothing can separate us from the love of God. Like little cows watching an airplane, God’s love reaches higher than that airplane can go. Or even when we make a wrong choice, like a naughty goat eating up the garden, God still loves us. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.
