Walk Like Jesus: Devotion and Craft for Toddlers

Spring time always seems to have my littles needing some new shoes. Between growth spurts, and the Minnesota winter my girls tend to be rough on their shoes, and need some new ones come warmer weather.

So we decided to have a little fun, make our own, and learn about Jesus.

What you need:

Canvas shoes

Fabric Markers

Ribbon, sequins, buttons, etc.

Hot glue gun (for adult use only)

What you do:

The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked.
1 John 2:6 NET

‘El que dice que está en él, debe andar como él anduvo.’
1 Juan 2:6 RVR09

Read the verse above, and then talk about the way Jesus lived.

Some examples:

He cared for the sick (Matthew 4:23)

He helped the disadvantaged (Luke 7:11-17)

He loved those that were different from him (John 4:4-26)

He loved children(Mark 10:13-16)

Dear God,

As we go about our day help us

See like Jesus,

Think like Jesus,

Listen like Jesus,

Speak like Jesus,

And love like Jesus.

Querido Dios,

A medida que avanzamos en nuestro día, ayudanos a

Ver como Jesús

Piensa como Jesús

Escucha como Jesús

Habla como Jesús

Y ama como Jesús.

Have littles use fabric markers to decorate their shoes as a reminder to ‘walk like Jesus.’ Help them attach ribbon, buttons, sequins, etc with a hot glue gun. Glue gun should not be used by littles.
