You all know that I am a big fan of using play to teach the Bible (I mean that’s basically what this whole blog is about). So you can imagine how I swooned when I stumbled upon ‘Seek and Find: Old Testament Stories’ by Sarah and André Parker. This resource is all about play. Show your little ones the Old Testament Bible Stories and play finding all the fun pictures in the story.

What is it?

This is a seek-and-find book, but not just any seek-and-find. This is a Storybook Bible seek-and-find. As you read the Bible story, you hunt for various hidden pictures in the illustration. I would say this is a good seek-and-find for 3 to 6 year-olds. The images are detailed enough that they will take a bit of skill to find all the items, but simple enough for preschoolers to successfully (and independently) find the items.

What I Love?

I love the bright, beautiful illustrations that are full of detail and capture the imagination. Little ones will love browsing the page and hunting for all the items listed. I also love that in addition to providing a summary of the story, they provide the scripture reference for where the story is found in the Bible. This can allow you to read the story from the Bible while your little one hunts for the pictures on the page. Many of the stories work on number recognition and quantity, asking children to find a certain number of an object (i.e. 10 orange fish), so kids also get a little math lesson while they play.

Finally, and probably my favorite part of this book is that it comes in 5 different languages: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, and French. We received the English version from The Good Book Company in return for our honest review, so that’s what you’ll see in my pictures, otherwise you know I’d be snagging a copy of the Spanish version.

What My Kids Love?

Vale is a huge seek-and-find fanatic! She loves any book that has you hunting for hidden pictures, so needless to say, this is her new favorite Storybook Bible. Naomi doesn’t love look-and-finds as much, but loves looking at the illustrations with her sister.
