When Eve was placed in the garden, she was created in God's image. A piece of God on earth, to be in peace with creation. She was good. . .... And just as Eve was made in the image of God, so are my girls. I pray that when the world whispers in their ears that they are unworthy, they would remember who they are in Christ. When critics come to rip-apart their God-given gifts I pray they will remember that they were made with a purpose, to be light in this dark world. And when naysayers come to make them doubt that God is good, they will cling to the truth that He cares for his children. . ..... May our littles know they were made in God's image to show His love to others. And may we know this too.. . ..... Happy Friday. Today we are marking off "woman" on our #biblebingo by learning about Eve! We read about when God made Eve in our Storybook Bible. Then we ate some fruit while we played with our new book from @libritosfortheheart . This bilingual (Spanish/English) book introduces little ones to Adam and Eve, and the fruits they may have eaten in the garden. Today we are marking off 'worship' on our #biblebingo by playing through the story of Gideon. Gideon may seem like a strange story for discussing worship. I mean wouldn't a Psalm, or a verse about dancing and music be more appropriate? . .... But when I think about worship, I think about warfare. Because when we are worshipping we are declaring that our God is bigger than our circumstances. We are declaring his omnipotence over every force of nature, both physical and spiritual. It is not denying what's going on, but it is lifting our eyes to the one one who is in control. And that is the essence or spiritual warfare. And that is exactly what happened in the story of Gideon. . .... God winnowed down Gideon's army until he only had 300 men. God didn't even send them out with swords! He sent them out with clay pots and trumpets to make some noise. And you know what? Gideon won! God is glorified in the impossible. He is glorified in our weaknesses. When the battle is too large, we're too small, and we really have no idea what we are doing, that is when God seizes the opportunity to show is power in our lives. . ..... Today we watched the Veggie Tales version of story: Gideon Tuba Warrior, and then made our own noise. Oh hey! There are so many new faces around here, I'm doing that #fridayintroductions thing 😂❤. I'm Kayla (the mama in the picture). That's my husband, Fabian. And these are our two girls, Vale and Naomi. I have yet to figure out how to get them to not look grumpy in family photos 🤷‍♀️ (if you have tips, send them my way!) . ..... And here are some random things you otherwise might not know about me: . 1️⃣ I love coffee (what #toddlermom doesn't?) And I drink it black ☕. 2️⃣ I'm a t-shirt and jeans girl. It's a classic, and perfect for #toddlerwrangling 3️⃣I for sure prefer sweet over salty (or really any other taste). My favorite sweet right now is the guayaba-filled conchas from @dulceriabakery 😋❤they're delicious and if you're local you need to try them! . .... Now what about you? Anything we're the same on?
