⛄Do you want to build a snowman? 🎶 Tomorrow is Naomi's birthday party, so we are reading Psalm 134:14 ❤"I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." I love to play through this verse whenever we're about to have a birthday, because we are celebrating the person that God made them to be, and they are wonderful! I set up an invitation to create, and in keeping with our Frozen theme from yesterday, we made snowmen. You can catch all the details up in my stories 👆. ❤We often think of this verse when we think of babies. It's all over Christian baby showers, and baby dedications. But friend, this verse is for mamas as well. If you were surprised to find yourself in motherhood, God wasn't. Whether you stay at home, or work, God is leading you. God has created YOU to mother YOUR children, no matter how you landed in motherhood. You, my friend, are fearfully and wonderfully made. ❤Rest in that truth this weekend.

❤Happy Valentine's Day!❤ Today we are having all sorts of heart-shaped goodies and are watching Frozen (because, as we talked about last week, it's a great example of sacrificial love). I also learned from @discoveringtheworld.frances that today is also National Give A Book Day! Which worked out perfectly, because we were planning on giving our girls each a book for a Valentine's Day treat. Did you know @usborne_books recently launched a line of Spanish Books! I'm not a distributor or anything, my heart was just filled with joy when I learned this, and had to share. We had been translating our "That's not my..." series with our best guesses of what the adjective would be in Spanish, and it was quite exhausting. Thanks for helping us out Usborne. ❤So Frozen, hearts, and books over here. How are you celebrating Valentine's Day?

❤Giving❤ Today we sent off our Valentines, we also went through some our our clothes, toys, and books to give away. When I started going through the clothes, Vale was pretty inquisitive and asked about it. I told her "We have more clothes than we actually need, so we are going to give some to a friend, so they can spend their money on something else." I try to be very selective in the words I use when talking to Vale about giving to others. I want to cultivate an attitude in our home where we recognize the blessings we have been given, and we give from our blessings. I also want to be cautious about how I talk to them about people in poverty. Often in our good intentions, and desire to teach our children about generosity, we use words that dehumanize people in poverty, and paints them as "the other." I want my children to see that people in tough places are people first. That tough place isn't what defines them. I don't know how to do that perfectly. But I love how Mr. Roger's (and now Daniel Tiger) calls everyone neighbor, or friend. So for my 2 year-old, that's what we're going with. The term 'friend' says we're not giving to someone way over there. This person is one of us, and "we take care of each other" (ahem...more Daniel Tiger). So, again, I don't know how to do this perfectly, but I'd love to hear from you all. ❤What are your thoughts on how we teach our little ones to give to others?

❤Making Valentines❤ Today we are making Valentine's, because 🎶Making something is one way to say 'I love you'🎶 Where are the Daniel Tiger fans at?🙋‍♀️ We used the beautiful Valentine's cards from @lufiandfriends to glam-up our craft time today. Also glitter💖. How do you feel about glitter? Tell me with some emojis👇💖😄🎉😊

❤Giving Love❤ After talking about how to show love last week, this week we are taking a few days to actually put what we have learned into practice. One way we have shown love is by making cupcakes to share with friends. We have played every afternoon since we downloaded and printed this game on Sunday. Yesterday we played for an hour!
