Pray n’ Play: St. Patrick

St. Patrick is probably one of my favorite role models from Church history. That being said, you may think we do something a little extra on St. Patrick’s Day. But to be honest, we really keep it simple around here. So simple, I hesitated to share our little St. Patrick’s tradition. But I decided that it’s important to share those discipleship moments that are simple, but meaningful.

So here we go! You ready? Here’s our tradition:

We eat Lucky Charms and watch a show about St. Patrick.

Good ol’ cereal and cartoons.

It’s simple, but meaningful, and something my kids consistently look forward to.

This year may look slightly different, as we’re on a dye free journey. But we still plan to indulge in some marshmallow cereal and watch a St. Patrick episode. After all, it is tradition. Here are the St. Patrick episodes we love.

Preschoolers

Veggie Tales has a short film on Saint Patrick’s life. My kids look forward to watching this every year.

Spanish: VeggieTales: San Patricio

English: VeggieTales: St. Patrick

Elementary Schoolers

We have recently discovered the Torchlighters series, which is right up my 8 year-old’s alley. Telling stories about Christians from history. We’re excited to give this episode a watch this year.

Spanish: Torchlighters: La Historia de San Patricio

English: Torchlighters: The St. Patrick Story

How do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?
