Prayer can feel tricky. Yes, the Sunday School teaches us prayer is talking to God. But sometimes it’s hard to find the words for what we want to say. These books (both collections of prayers and stand alone prayers) can help break the ice in our prayer time.

Psalms Series by Sally Lloyd-Jones
Spanish Edition: Psalmos por Sally Lloyd-Jones
This series is probably my little guy’s favorite. Sally Lloyd-Jones takes various Psalms and rewords them for little hearts. They become beautiful prayers children can read with their parents. (Ages 2+)
He Is Always With Me
I love finding books by Indie authors who love what they do and are passionate about raising kids who know God loves them. He is always with me is a beautiful book sharing a song/prayer to help littles remember that God is with them no matter what (ages 5+).
I’m Not A Scaredy Cat
This book follows the story of a very scaredy cat. However, it features a refrain that can be used with littles a prayer for times of fear:

A World of Praise
This book takes readers around the world, country to country, offering a prayer of thanks for the beautiful diverse world God has made. (Ages 3+).

This one is for the Spanish-speakers. This is an illustrated version of the song ‘Alabaré’ originally by Manuel José Alonso y José Pagán. This is now a classic in the Latine Church, and now can be shared as a multigenerational prayer.
